Gina's 5 Awesome Website Examples!

1 Rhythm Painter

This website interested me because I saw Joshua Moonshine perform in Wildwood, NJ this past summer and it was an incredible experience. I researched his page because after experiencing his performance I thought that his website could recreate the aesthetic feel of his work and it does! What I enjoy most about the site is the videos he posts tells why he paints and how he creates work helps the user get to know the artist even better. The beginning screen of the site also draws in the user with its animation, video, and audio. Music on each page would make this site even more enjoyable.

2 Life in Greenville

The layout of this website really caught my eye. The typeface on the main page was bold yet had a comforting feel "THE PERFECT BLEND OF BIG CITY EXCITEMENT AND SMALL TOWN SIMPLICITY". The use of close up photography gave detail to the pages but did not take away from the information that was written on the page. While navigating the site I got to experience Greenville, South Caroline without leaving my bed.

3 Creative Opera

This website was created with a great concept and layout. The idea of this space is for designers to visit different blogs for inspiration for their work. Creative Opera is easy to navigate and contains a large amount of information depending on what you are looking for. On the right hand side of the site the user can chose to visit either examples of resumes, myths, or blogs all relating to design. One thing about this site that frustrated me was that I needed to keep scrolling down quite far to get to the end of all the blogs. With a number as large as 80 examples I feel it works better with multiple pages.

4 Chase Design

This is a design group with two different locations California and New York. Their website is meant to show future clients their work and what they do within their company. The basic information such address and phone numbers are clearly identified at the bottom of the screen. What I find most successful about their space is the scrolling images on the main screen. They really make the user want to click them and see them at larger scale. Luckily navigating to other parts of the website using the words at the top of the page allow you to view the images according to the category they were used for.

5 The Kitchn

The only parts of this website that stand out to me are the images. The texture of each dish is captures in all the photographs and it really makes me hungry looking at them. However for me to use this website I would get frustrated with the amount of small text. Also the multiple advertisements on the side of the page really distracts me from the recipes and articles. I really enjoy the idea of the website because I like to cook and entertain, but it makes me want to leave it with the amount of information on each page.
